Constructions of “Found Objects”

“Out of our Minds” Made of moose antler, wild turkey feathers, Japanese lantern pods, fox face is sewn, with kaleidoscope glass eyes—double entendre of how our contemporary lives with its distractions, pressures, and busyness lead to our being “out of our minds” as well as the alternate meaning of what can come “out of our minds” in terms of creativity, connection to nature and to one another.

“Mobile Shamans” constructed out of Devil’s Claw Pods, feathers, beads etc.  Meant to symbolize the unseen forces of nature that are all around us, appearing in fanciful, inspiring, fleeting moments made into mobiles that hang from windows and hallways taking note of passing time, yet so very timeless in their journey.

Treasure boxes (Paste paper, Dragonfly, stones, knitted wire spider web)

“Book of The Spirit of Fox-face Puppets Exploring Their Environs” (Book made of pastepaper, beads, linen twine, feathers and puppets made of Alaskan discarded fox, beads, leather, feathers, beads, paper wasp nests, felted stones)
