Twelve American Cashmere goats, a cohort, a small herd with its hierarchy, togetherness, individual characters but always aware and acting as part of a group…. of which I am a member. The hierarchy: Sam, Grey, Fluffy, Favorite, Serena, Eric, Lady, Pippie Longstockings, Eclipse, Clair de Lune, Cupcake. Starting with 4 from Springtide Farm in Bremen Maine, now bred to 12 goats ranging in age from 6-16 years, an aging cohort, clan, living in their “Goat Heaven” (rocky ledges, woods, open pasture and endless leaves, bark, twigs, plants, grass plus locally grown Morses’ hay, grain, and lots and lots of appreciation and caring for their Shepherdess Karen
